99 Years Young! Dialysis Hasn’t Stopped Margaret!

99 Years Young! Dialysis Hasn’t Stopped Margaret!

My name is Margaret Boetger. I am 99 years young. I say young because I enjoy every day to the fullest. I have been widowed for many years and now live with my daughter and son-in-law. I have six children and countless grand, great and great, great grandchildren. I enjoy using my laptop, tablet and kindle each day. I enjoy keeping up with my family and friends via “Facebook” and playing “Words With Friends” and other fun computer games. Until some hand surgery, I enjoyed crocheting and making afghans and scarves and hats for family and friends.

I also enjoy traveling. Often I go to Arizona to visit my sister and have many friends there that I enjoy. We go to bingo and the casino quite often.  I also travel to Texas to visit my granddaughter over the Christmas holidays. I enjoy going to car shows with my daughter and her husband. We drive in their classic cars and it is always a fun experience. I travel with my dog, Lulu. She is my best friend and companion. She goes with me wherever I go.

Eating out is also fun for me. My favorite restaurant is a sushi place that serves really good shrimp tempura. Breakfast out on Sunday is always a special treat at my favorite “First Watch".

I am grateful for the entire dialysis process. It has truly enhanced my health and life. I have a wonderful local dialysis center and through the DaVita network, I am able to travel and get quality dialysis where I travel to. My local center has a quality staff and they always seem to make the dialysis process comfortable. The staff’s friendly and fun attitude makes for a pleasant atmosphere and it make each session more enjoyable.

I look forward to many more years of life ahead.
