As part of our Depression Screening Quality Improvement Activity, Social Workers from DCI Mid-Missouri have formulated a plan to ensure depression is receiving the same attention and care as other symptoms of dialysis.
Staff and patients lack of knowledge and understanding of depression, patient’s reluctance to seek treatment and unstandardized screening process complicate things. The group of 6 Social Workers has developed a plan to streamline their screening process, address differences in policies and procedures and develop educational plans for staff and patients.
Creating a plan is easy; creating a plan that can be sustained over time is hard.
The Network is proud to partner with DCI Mid-Missouri as they work to significantly impact the patients they work with for years to come.
